THREE FIELDS AND A RIVER

An autobiographical collection arranged in sections relating to the stages of life – early childhood, young adulthood and into the present day. Poems spring from events, memories, and people. Themes of time, loss, responsibility, freedom, the relationship between parents and children, mothers and daughters and the enduring love within a long marriage occur and reoccur.

Kath Fox writes her poetry at the dining room table as family life ebbs and flows around her and inevitably influences the themes of her poems, often exploring domestic and family life. Her poems are humane and generous, laced with a lilting longing for the past. She revisits people and places with tranquillity and gentleness but does not flinch from exposing the emotional truths she uncovers in her reflections.

The river weaves its way through all the sections, representing creativity; the silver thread connecting the past, the present and the future.
